An 11-day Tanzania safari and Zanzibar trip perfectly balances wildlife viewing and beach relaxation. Typically, you spend 5 to 6 days on a guided 4×4 tour of the Northern Circuit (Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater), followed by a short flight to Zanzibar to unwind on the coast

Itinerary

Day by day

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

When you arrive at the airport in Arusha, our staff will meet you and take you to your hotel. You will rest, relax, and prepare for your safari adventure.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha. You will drive to Tarangire National Park across Maasai land with open plains and acacia trees. Along the way, you will see Maasai people walking, cycling, and herding cattle. In Tarangire, you will see many elephants and other animals such as zebras, giraffes, buffalo, and wildebeest. You may also see lions or leopards. After the game drive, you will go to a lodge for dinner, relax, and stay overnight.

Day 3: Karatu to Serengeti

After breakfast, you will travel through fertile farmland and the green forests of the Ngorongoro area. You may see baboons, elephants, or even leopards on the way. You will pass near the famous Ngorongoro Crater before continuing to Serengeti National Park. After a game drive in the Serengeti, you will go to your lodge in the Seronera area for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park

You will spend the whole day exploring Serengeti National Park. You will see many animals such as lions, cheetahs, elephants, buffalo, zebras, and wildebeest. If you are lucky, you may see the great migration of animals moving across the plains. After the game drive, you will return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight rest under the African sky.

Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, you will leave Serengeti and travel to Ngorongoro Crater. You may see the Big Five animals on the way. The crater is a large natural area filled with many animals. Inside, you may see lions, elephants, rhinos, zebras, and many birds. After a full day of game viewing, you will go to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Lake Manyara to Zanzibar

After breakfast, you will visit Lake Manyara National Park. You may see flamingos, monkeys, elephants, giraffes, and even tree-climbing lions if you are lucky. After the visit, you will return to Arusha and take a flight to Zanzibar, where you will stay in Stone Town.

Day 7–10: Nungwi Beach, Zanzibar

You will travel to Nungwi in the north of Zanzibar Island. This is a beautiful beach area where you can relax and enjoy the ocean. You can swim, snorkel, dive, fish, or take village tours. You can also enjoy yoga, cycling, and watching beautiful sunsets. You will stay here for four nights.

Day 11: Departure

After breakfast, you will check out of your hotel. You will be transferred to the airport or seaport for your flight home, taking with you many wonderful memories of your safari and beach holiday.
